How Covid Extremism lost me

Every single week I am perplexed by the stadiums and arenas filled with people screaming and yelling to watch their favorite sports teams because on my local newscasts I hear public health experts talk about how they wouldn’t dare eat at an indoor restaurant.

We have vaccines that are preventing severe disease in the majority of the population and promising therapeutics to treat Covid on the way and yet in some areas of the country there don’t seem to be any metrics for an offramp for restrictions.

We know that Covid isn’t going anywhere and Zero Covid is not going to happen. In that case why do so many “experts” and people continue to peddle extreme views about lockdowns, mask mandates, and some are still talking about sanitizing groceries. (We learned early on that there isn’t surface transmission with Covid)

I am definitely not in the Covid Extreme camp that says that Covid does not exist and it’s all made up and I am also definitely not in the opposite extremist camp that refuses to acknowledge that there will be no Zero Covid and spending our lives trying to avoid the virus(when there are vaccines and therapeutics on the way) is unhealthy and doing more harm than good.

I have three ideas why Covid Extremism is an issue and these three reasons are why Covid Extremists lost me.
